Research Interests
My research centers on Pedology in the Critical Zone (CZ), where I strive to understand how soils evolve in natural settings. Soils are critical to global society, providing ecosystem services that sustain life. The goal of my research is to provide new perspectives on the interplay of soils, climate, and landscape evolution through 1) cross-scale investigations of soil biogeochemistry in the CZ, 2) studies of how soils stabilize carbon across landscapes, and 3) examinations of soil as a dynamic medium for carbon-mineral-microbe interactions.
