Research Interests
I am interested in understanding soil response to increased drought in semiarid and arid regions.
Background
Growing up in the Philippines, Indonesia, and Egypt, I became interested in our globalized world at an early age. Different cultures influences my way of creative thinking and I was intrigued with the messages in traditional folk art. This led me to pursue a Bachelor's degree in Fine Art. After college, I lived and worked outside for four years, building hiking trails and leading sustainable forestry crews throughout the Rocky Mountains and the Southwest. My interest in natural resource management stemmed from experiences in these wild remote areas. I am interested in pursuing science communication and visual communication in semiarid and arid regions.
