Current Project
I’ve spent the last year working as an undergrad on a reclamation study concerning the Rosemont Mine. This summer I began helping Noelle in the Gallery lab and I’ve found it very interesting and exciting so far. As of now I am focusing on taking pH readings from Colorado soils of varying burn severities and contrasting these results with plant populations and vegetation dynamics. I’m lucky enough to keep working throughout the semester in addition to classwork, being a preceptor for field botany and heading up the Undergraduate Range Management Exam Team.
Other Achievements
Secretary, University of Arizona Society for Range Management: Tierra Seca 2014-2015
Background
The serenity that nature has brought me led me to pursue my degree in Natural Resources. Mount Lemmon, Sequoia National Park and Muir Woods are some of my favorite destinations. I believe in trying new things, especially if they scare me. I have a Corgi/Labrador mix named Toby who I love dearly. I grew up in Tucson and I continue to find new things to love about the desert every day. My first ever job was working in my aunt and uncle’s cactus nursery. Before going back to school I was an aesthetician. I’m fond of going to concerts, skateboarding, solo road trips, excellent personal style, making stencils and being the best plant nerd I can be.
